The bill to make voting HARDER for citizens to vote - passed the House 220 - 208. Success in the Senate is not assured. But you never know. Please contact your Senators.
"When Republicans first introduced the legislation last year, Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) said while it’s tough to prove migrants are voting in U.S. elections, it’s something the party “intuitively” knows is happening.
“We all know, intuitively, that a lot of illegals are voting in federal elections. But it’s not been something that is easily provable.
NOT EASILY PROVABLE !!!
Remember these names:
Four Democrats — Reps. Ed Case (Hawaii), Henry Cuellar (Texas), Jared Golden (Maine) and Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (Wash.) — voted with all Republicans in favor.
This was all unnecessary and stupid. People who are not citizens don't want to get in trouble for voting and possibly get imprisoned. The rate of people who are voting illegally is minuscule, and this is simply Republican grandstanding.
But the idea of preventing "illegal voting" is just cover for eliminating "opposition voting". It was young men who gave us this dystopian moment in history. Women voted for Harris.
I have no pity for the fools who mess with the folks in the kitchen. I am proud to be one. I cooked a respectable mushroom omlet this morning. And yes, I will have what she's having.
Men have made a mess for soooo long. Let's introduce a bill that stages a complete leadership change to women. Start with 2026 - only women can run. 2028 ? Same. Keep it in place for 10 years and then have a referendum to ask whether to continue.
All my Congressional representatives are voting against the bill, thankfully, and I've already shared information about it with others. What else should I be doing?
Yes Bill, but since the vet bills went nuts, I turned to my backyard friends for interspecies communications. I have also been spending a lot of time listening to my gut in recent years...I know for a fact we are never alone. There is a lot going in in there, thats for sure.
Every time I read something like this, I recall a trip to Riyadh, when I was a traveling computer consultant. There, women are forced to wear clothing that covers as much as the habits the nuns in my parochial school wore: you could see nothing but their faces. And they ate in separate rooms in the restaurants. I could sense a simmering resentment under all that, and have wondered how much longer it will be before the Saudis have a 'night of the long knives' and lose a generation when the women rise up and take their revenge. And I wonder how any American woman could vote for the orange menace and his regime. Men always complain that women are hard to understand: the ones who voted for this regime are truly a puzzlement. Will they wake up in time to do something about this travesty.
Intelligent analysis would suggest that if you think your policies are popular...you would want as many participating voters as possible. So...
Which is why I would recommend voter registration start at birth with automatic activation at age 18. And mandatory voting. Ranked choice elections. OK, I'll stop...too much coffee.

I knew Golden was on the list. The others don't surprise me, especially Gluesenkamp Perez. Thanks for publishing this.

Yes, indeed. Thanks for weighing in!

Thanks, Bill, misogyny rears its ugly head once again

If this idiotic bill passes, every woman in America who is of voting age should go on the attack. 😠
Why wait?

Selfcare Ellen…listen to your own gratitude infused breathing,
hydration, sleep, nutrition, and exercise.
Lead by example, without anger.
Be calm and assertive, like the dog whisperer.
If one of us master’s all the above? Who knows? I do not know anyone who has, but we practice.
Do all that Ellen, and KEEP ON TRUCKIN’ …
Good advice. Also, it is National Hug a Dog Day. The more dogs, the better we feel.

Thank you for telling forcefully, Bill.

I understand a provision to provide a marriage certificate to prove name change was denied. 🤬

As always, thanks for commenting:)
I’ll take all the above, Bill, for the win!
