Beautiful piece. Thanks Bill. I’ll be on the streets in Delaware on the 14th shooting pictures.

I’ll pin a sign on my shirt in honor of Woody Guthrie: This camera kills fascists!

Great idea to stand in front of your town hall!

Nice garden, by the way. I assume the tall fences are to keep the deer out.

Yes. Sometimes they will even jump that fence! They don't bother me because I have so many structures to support peas and beans.

Great post Bill! My niece and I marched with the Veteran’s protest in Vancouver WA. We marched from the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars Memorial to an I 5 overpass. We had a lot of honks and thumbs too. We spoke to the wife of a Viet Nam veteran who is in a care home with Alzheimer’s. She is very worried about him losing the long term care he needs. I am so glad we were there to support them.

Yes! Please give us a report about No Kings Day from an Island perspective.

BTW, looks like we will be standing out with three generations. Mom wants to teach her kids what America is all about.

Thanks Fay. Always good to hear your voice.

In a weird way, I wish this fascist coup had happened years ago when I was younger, more fit and with less aches. Just like I wish the "kids" had had kids much earlier.

And aren't all of us of a "certain age" pissed off that we are spending our final years dealing with such bullshit? All of this energy and time is devoted to a negative. Instead, we all could be building on the positives. Solving problems rather than watching maniacal bigots create them every damn minute.

But it is what it is. I thought I might start "working out" to build my street endurance - but that hurts too much :) and I am terrible at structured exercise.

Thanks for sharing, Bill. I am glad you were able to represent in your corner of the world. Any plans for the 14th?

Garden looks great. There’s always room for a garden. We have a very tiny one on our 6th floor apartment patio.

Thanks. Glad to hear from you!

On the 14th, Wife and I will be in the same spot in front of our town hall. But there are many locations available nearby. This is a good sign!

I don't pray, so I'll just wish strongly that everyone is peaceful - taking Robert Reich's advice. We can't feed the Beast by giving it a reason to pull in the military as he did in LA.

FYI -Trying to comment was a challenge today (took four links ) .

Anywhoooo …people are waking up here in the Middle of the Pacific !

ICE grabbed 10 people in Kailua Kona three weeks ago (mostly children so they could get the adults 😢😭 ) and my Indivisible counterparts tried to follow up to determine what happened to them and got no where ! We believe they were taken to Honolulu and deported from there but we just don’t know ! We have become a third world country . This feels like 1933 Germany or just like 1973 Argentina 💔💔

Hawaii is still a kinder gentler place but the Hawaiians are pretty disgusted. Under American rule they have been disenfranchised from the very lands (the “Aina”) of their birth and their ancestors ! We tried to kill their language , their dance , their customs and their very heritage so there is an underlying unrest here in Hawaii that most Americans are unaware of.

At least when they had a Monarch …that Monarch cared about the Hawaiian people and the fact remains …our government has STILL not released the lands to the Hawaiian people that have been in trust from Queen Lili …so imagine the distrust there must be for the “HAOLE “ (a derogatory word for “white person” that originally meant “without breath” because they thought Captain Cook was a “ghost” …a god when he first showed up ) . It now means “privileged narcissist “ from what I’ve seen and the Hawaiians have a valid point .

Anyhow …as Indivisible Kona will be protesting loudly tomorrow 🥳🎉🇺🇸 but as I wear my “NO KINGS” shirt and hold my protest sign high …I have to wonder what some of my Hawaiian friends are going through because this MAD KING has got to be triggering and traumatizing on even more levels than those of us whose skin color has given us more privilege than we realize .

As always, Mahalo for your voice over the years Mr Bill ! You inspire and give more hope to people than you know .

Namaste
