Bill,

Great post and absolutely great pictures and description of the food at "The Big E". Sounds like great fun and the pics and description reminds me of the old 1970's Palestine, TX "Fair" back at what turned out to be the end times for the local travelling fairs in smaller towns in TX.

However, I must caution you, based on some good data, that, although I am sure all of the food tastes wonderful, it may result in some less than optimal health outcomes for "old guys" (like me).

:-)

Great distraction, and all the sinful fare beats the hell out of McDonalds, but "gone completely insane" is right! No wonder the number one killer in America is heart disease!

Yikes! Those are some delicious myocardial infarction dishes.

I must admit, very few of these foods appeal to me. I guess I’m just not a fan of deep fried foods. I’ll stick with a Maine lobster roll.

Same here. A lobster roll and a loaded baked potato would work for me.

I provided the story purely for entertainment value!

Outstanding post Bill, and a great warning about the potential dangers in getting too involved in one's research.

I haven't been to the BIG E in decades. Maybe that's why my arteries showed clear on the calcium CT scan recently. That being said, I wish I'd had some of the fried deviled eggs.

Like you, I have avoided county fair food for a while and am getting good medicals as a result. I miss the fried sauerkraut from the IN state fair.
