I'm happy to be a subscriber here. It was recommended to me by a good friend. Thank you for this post. It gave me a better perspective. I have shared some of Ms Richardson's letters with friends and sometimes they say that this is political and they don't want to hear anything political.

But it's so much more than that! I guess everyone has to discover their reality in their own way, and they are suspicious of writers that they haven't heard about, and their lives are busy and they don't feel that they have time to search for the answers to questions that we all ask ourselves. I am just as suspicious and cynical as they are when I hear television news.

I'm glad that I discovered Substack. The anger feed of Facebook, not to mention Twitter, was exhausting.

Thank you for sharing this! What a wonderful gift Heather Cox Richardson is to her readers! She is clearly a beacon in this treacherous period of our history!
