Thank you for your voice Bill!

As always, you have pulled back the curtain of an accepted silence to reveal how healthy it is when we have an opportunity to work/train with others who come from a different background/culture ...once we know others for their “hearts” and not the color of their skin, their religion or their culture ...we become united as “people”. Humanity and “critical thinking” has a chance at surviving.

I also want to “thank you” for providing links that have articles which deepen understanding.

Namaste

I am sorry for your rough experience and bitterness in the military but I am grateful for the camaraderie you experienced. I miss that about being in the military. While I respect your idea, compulsory national service will not result in the same experience as you would hope. It is against human nature. Voluntary comes from the heart - it is genuine. Compulsory activities are met with resentment. It is human nature. Your ideas of serving create opportunities to serve. Perhaps we should look at creating the opportunities with community awareness. Participation could enhance one's application to college, resumes, and experience for public service.
